Florida Department of Environmental
Protection, Division of Law Enforcement Case Study,
Provided By Florida
DEP
"On September 28,
2009, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) tested its
Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) emergency notification system.
This
test was an ideal opportunity for the DEP Division of Law Enforcement to also
utilize the Law Enforcement Officer Simultaneous Notification System
(LEOSNS), created by GlobalCall Enterprises, International.
The DEP
Leadership Team members were asked by the Chief of Staff to contact all
employees under their purview by phone only and acknowledge that they were able
to make contact with all employees.
Director Henry Barnet of the DEP Division
of Law Enforcement, used LEOSNS to contact all bureau chiefs with a message
instructing them to make contact with their employees.
All bureau chiefs
received this message through LEOSNS, and after contacting their employees, sent
an acknowledgement back to Director Barnet.
LEOSNS is an easy tool to
use, and will be a valuable asset during times of emergencies or natural
disasters by minimizing the time it takes to notify and account for our staff of
200 law enforcement officers and personnel."

"In September 2008, the Florida Keys
were threatened by Hurricane "Ike". At that time the forecast was for Ike to
strike the middle keys as a Category 4 storm, which would have been catastrophic
for the City of Key West.
During Hurricane Ike, the Key West Police
Department used your emergency notification system to contact and inform
ALL of its personnel, on multiple occasions, with real time
communications.
After the storm passed, the police department held a
debriefing session to evaluate our performance during it. The most resounding
comment was regarding the law enforcement notification system created
by GlobalCall Enterprises, International."
